Triple feature: Take a walk on Three Creeks Trail right next to Cider Junction. It is a connector trail that brings together miles and miles of existing trails. Local advocacy groups are working to complete 3CT, including one important group led by my sweet husband.

For small independent slightly out-of-the-way spots like this, going regularly is the key. Take your favorite game and sit on their patio on the regular!

Yes! Falafel Drive-In is still serving up deliciousness. But, closer to us is Souvlaki Skewers, wonderfully yummy local spot.

There is a wonderful cider spot near us but they are still struggling with changes in people's eating out since COVID. Might we use the good of Spoutible to send them some love? https://www.theciderjuncti...

As a young girl growing up in Portland, I was appalled to find the paperwork my parents signed to buy the property where they built our house -- it prohibited them from selling to a non-white buyer. I remember running to my mother and shaking the papers at her: "Why would you agree to this?"

I witnessed my mother doing the same with her FIL, and I did the same later with an old friend who tried to defend her father's words and behaviors, and I would do it again anytime. None of it is defendable, ever.

Yes, all of this. I am even reluctant to follow back on accounts that seem to be male. I really don't think that many men understand what women have to do to protect their peace.

Yes, all of that. Reminds me of hearing Michelle Obama speak and hearing about those moments when they left the White House for the last time and she cried for 30 minutes. She was so very tired of the need to be perfect for 8+ years.

Yes, and our former senator. So frustrating to see how her laughter is mocked so mercilessly. I see joy, passion, and verve in her smile and laughter. And I see so much intelligence in her words. So much racism and misogyny in those criticisms.

How do you yourself pronounce BBIMP? I see the pronunciation via a Google search but I'm interested in how you say it. Thank you!

Update! I was so confused about our dishwasher filter since the online manual was ambiguous about cleaning. It turns out that our model has a grinder in it that takes care of most bits except the largest. Those larger things are visible at the bottom of the dishwasher without opening anything. Phew.

Since we have had such a brutal drought in the last several years in California, we stopped doing a neighborhood produce share. It used to be a weekly event in a small park where people could swap fruits, vegetables, plants, seeds... It comes back for one night later this summer, should be fun.

Yes! And rejuvenating for me and the plants. Lots of weekly menu planning to use up garden goodies, as an expression of being grateful for the food and not letting it waste.

Beautiful and amazing! After being a light gardener for years (mostly flowers) and letting my husband take the bigger load because he loves it and I have a demanding job, I have shifted recently to a much bolder gardener, propagating a lot more, trimming more. Wonder why it took me so long!

I won tickets to see him in a small club with open seating in San Francisco, maybe 2004, and I met an old friend there. We walked in and saw that no one was in the front row, so I said, "Follow me!" He was so deeply introverted but so stunning to watch up close. We have seen him several times since.

From NOAA, a helpful definition: The winds of a derecho travel at least 58 miles per hour and have been recorded as fast as 130 miles per hour. That's as fast as some tornados! But instead of spiraling like a tornado or hurricane, the winds of a derecho move in straight lines.

Yes, we visited a friend in Ontario last fall and saw incredible damage. I had never heard of a derecho before then, other than Spanish class, not as a weather event.
