Aged 8 for Mother’s Day I gave Ma a Finger Fright in a homemade box. Something special.

Tonight on Spoutible I have learned thanks to @danismashingit that ‘Lady in Red’ is in fact called ‘THE Lady in Red’ & been reminded by Maggie_C that the Union Jack can only be so called at sea. On land it is the Union Flag.

As a break from all the #DinoPorn filth, here’s some #VarnishPorn . Yeah, I know. That’s never going to trend. Anyway: Four recent works with a coat of gloss varnish over an isolation coat of soft gel gloss to protect the paint. Next comes the Matte varnish which will photograph without this glare.

#PaintalongaBen Took the weekend off & came back with a bang to finish this yesterday. Skin tones brought it together, then I went over the upholstery, clothing & sky to colour correct & intensify with some glazes. Happy with the result. Hope it gets the #ArtSpout seal of approval!

#PaintalongaBen progress! I’ve finally launched into the pattern painting on the top, starting today with the deep greens. This represents the bulk of a day’s work, which has left me with 1) a general sense of satisfaction so far & 2) a crick in my neck.

Not even going to attempt to thread this new project as even the keenest followers have been missing stages in my previous one, but here’s what I’m up to today: I’ve painted a thin ground wash of yellow ochre/burnt sienna/Mars black over the pencils & masked off the blind slats ready for painting.
