Don't give up hope yet. Per NASA Sun and Space on Twitter, there was another large solar flare, so there might be another chance tomorrow night @Cindy Martinez.

I join w/ everyone sending you good vibes. But also, send them a hand-written thank you note. It sounds corny but thank them for meeting with you, that you enjoyed meeting with them, and that you think the work sounds...whatever adjective fits. Short and sweet but it makes you stand out. Good luck!

Probably Jane Marple - she's sweet, honest, intelligent, would probably call me Dear, and smell like lavender. IOW, unintimidating :)

I'm driving from CT to Indiana for it - meeting up with my son driving from MI. Figure if it's cloudy, we have a lot of options for traveling. I wanted to go north but the options are more limited if the weather sucks. So psyched!

even in college - a lot of frat houses had bathrooms with 2 toilets, no stalls. Still never saw anything. If there was a trans person with me, I wouldn't have known cuz I minded my own business. Why can't the idiots who are so obsessed with bathrooms mind theirs?!

I've been using public restrooms since I was in kindergarten. And I use them a lot. Never once have I seen another person's genitals (except for babies having diapers changed - and those babies were mostly my own). Where did the idea come from that everyone checks out everyone else's...stuff? Weird

I have great insurance as I have Medicare and my employer pays 80% of the premium for a group Plan F policy. F pays for everything that Medicare A & B don't, which, in 3 1/2 years, is over $100K. (Prescription drugs are separate.) I'm very lucky - and grateful. I went years with no insurance

C is the private insurance part so you have to shop around and see what's offered. D is prescriptions. If they're a member of AARP, they offer D plans. F pays for everything, all deductibles and co-pays, except for prescriptions, but is being phased out by a lot of companies and has a high premium.

They have to have parts A and B. One is for hospitals one for doctors, etc. Those are the ones that come thru the gov. Part A is free, Part B has a monthly premium that can be deducted from Social Security payments or paid quarterly. For 2024, the premium is $174.70/mo with a $240 deductible

And when you took the phone off the hook - when you just didn't want to deal with people - it made that weird beeping-alarm sound for a couple minutes, after which you forgot the phone was off the hook for hours. Ah, the good old days... 😀
