I agree 100%. A Black public figure is always held to a higher standard and never afforded the grace to get things wrong before they get them right. And whenever they *do* get things wrong there's ALWAYS that gleeful leap to burning crosses. Fuck that! My solidarity has no room for anti-Blackness.

I'm not giving up on this space yet. I'm just disappointed with how things devolved. Whatever critiques however valid have been drowned out by anti-Black attacks. It's incredibly disgusting that there are vicious rumors abt Bouzy that are reminiscent of Carolyn Bryant's tactics.

“I like writing more when performed at an adagio.” I enjoyed this piece, though I'm myself more of an allegro sort of fellow. https://lithub.com/a-revol...

The Mountain in the Sea by Ray Nayler
I had a difficult time getting into it at first but now I’m really liking it. Definitely nerdy and outside the box.

I recently had the pleasure of interviewing one of my favourite indie authors, and she told me all about her books and the Kickstarter she's running to turn one into an audiobook. Go check it out, and support the Kickstarter if you can!

FEAR ME, for I have taken the step of turning OFF my work email notifications on my phone. I have also figured out the bulk of my vacation wardrobe, although I’m still dithering mildly about warmth layers and which underpinnings will work best on amusement park rides.

I see Spoutible is also lagging a bit... just like Twitter did in the early days! Except there's no "failwhale" graphic here. Would be too on the nose, I suppose.

the thing about juggling multiple manuscripts, as I suppose is the thing about juggling anything at all, is that sometimes you miss a beat and everything collapses and bounces away, and you have to go pick them up individually before you can start again, and some of them are stuck under the sofa

Hello friends! For the writers among us the hashtag #WritersofSpoutible could use more love. How about a fun round of introduction? Talk about what you write and a recurring theme in your work if possible. 👀
I write mainly #mglit but I have some #YA on the side. My recurring theme is found family.

JACKAL by Erin E. Adams is everything. The historic and the personal, the dread of wild places and of human pettiness. I hugged my copy. This book is special.

I'm trying not to over-scream about it, but if you haven't read it yet, you've made a terrible mistake. Go fix it.
