When Elon restricted the number of tweets users could view, each of the alternatives experienced a significant surge of new users. Spoutible got a bit slow at times, but we quickly adapted. Bluesky had to pause new sign-ups for several days. I do believe this is why they are still invite-only.

Don’t get me wrong, there are a few people I miss from Twitter, and I love my rut BUT this space has shown me new friends are “silver” and I really like silver. Again, I’m not looking to duplicate my experience from anywhere. I was looking for better, and these waters definitely feel better.

Back-and-forth engagement happens here because we've come to know some disruptive a33hole won't torch or stalk or dox us here. The ability to be direct & vulnerable allows for real communication. Safety makes it possible. But that also means standing up & protecting our own. Plus learning.

We actually want you guys to break things; that is how we get better. We were able to handle the first day of the surge traffic without any major issues because we had months of breaking things. But the second day was insane. It was like trying to stop a flood with a shot glass.😅
