If you don't believe me, try the explanation from the University of Wisconsin-Madison:

Scroll to the "Mary is" examples at the bottom.

(And btw I am a college professor, and I do not fabricate any of these explanations.)

Hi, Matt!
The item is asking readers to determine how many words are missing required apostrophes. (For this item, zero)

You can, however, have more than one apostrophe per word:

She'd've eaten more shrimp if her stomach had room, etc.

*Everything* is *always* the choice of the individual. I, for one, always check my teeth for spinach before addressing a crowd. Likewise, when writing, I always confirm that items in a list have parallel structure. A nonparallel item is as cringe-worthy as spinach on the teeth of a presenter.

Education (MLA and APA), law, and most other style guides require an apostrophe + s after a noun like *Delores*:

Using just an apostrophe after the *s* for *Delores* is Associated Press (AP) style:

Without the *but*, you would have a fused sentence or comma splice, depending on the choice A - D that you made. Both are major sentence errors.
