And I’m not hearing anyone discuss the Bradley effect. I’m no expert on Kentucky voters, but is this really not an issue with some portion of state Republicans? (Honest ask)

That is sad and unfortunate. I’m sorry.

Of course, in most cases, giving blood is voluntary. Needing cancer treatments or many other kinds of medical intervention aren’t. I think the least we can all do for people who don’t have a choice is wear a well-fitting, quality mask in public spaces.

Yes, this shows the hypocrisy of GOP leaders & it shows Scalise cares a lot more about himself than he ever did about any of you. But you knew all that. You didn’t need this reminder.

What does require reminding, apparently, is that #MasksWork #COVIDisAirborne & #CovidIsNotOver

Having regulatory laws written by people dependent on bankers for campaign donations is like having the bankers sit on the boards of the federal agencies responsible for enforcing the regulations.

Wait, that’s a thing? Yes, that’s a thing. It should not be a thing. Let’s stop allowing that thing

That group has a decades-long history of homophobic, anti-LGBTQ activities. Dr. Redfield long advocated abstinence-only public policy as the way to slow the spread of AIDS.
A Trump appointee who radically upped his CDC salary, no one should seek Redfield’s “insights” on anything.

Now would also be a good time to remind folks that Redfield pushed publicly funded trials of an AIDS vaccine that was proven ineffective early on. Redfield’s data was questioned and it was later revealed he had ties to a group that stood to profit from the vax.

Is there anyone who thinks—especially under the electoral college system—that deferring to the xenophobes will win enough votes for any Democrat to make a difference? Is there anyone who thinks that worrying about “mean stuff said on Fox” makes for good policy or good politics?

Imagine journalist employees on one side asking for future guarantees that the company will keep paying to house the digital content; then imagine the moment of stunned silence and blinking disbelief when corporate says “it’s already on the internet—what’s the problem?”

If it is not clear above, these are studies of people who are 30 days to one year removed from their initial Covid infection. This is post-Covid mortality, not events during the acute stage of the infection.

From other studies (via Eric Topol): though Covid-19 infection increases risk of adverse cardiovascular events in all populations, being vaccinated appears to cut the increase in half (studies below don’t appear to include the Sinai study linked above). erictopol.substack.com/p/heart-attack…

Oh, and Kavanaugh echoed Gorsuch on debt. That’s Brett Kavanaugh, who lives in a house he shouldn’t be able to afford, who had his debt paid off by either his wealthy parents or a mystery donor, and who was also gifted country club fees and season tickets for the Washington Nationals.
