But apple being apple is more chilling than anything spoutible does for adult content.

I take your point. Moderation is hard and no one gets it right even after a lot of iteration which spoutible definitely hasn't gone through of course being less than a month old.

There are a lot of challenges coming. Adult content, copyrightable content, impersonation, different languages etc.

Yes I am sad about his response to Courtney. I was rooting for Spoutible to be the home of the smart and fun women of Romancelandia.

You’re damaging your brand. You were foolish yesterday, and articulate passionate people spoke up. Then it felt like there was a switch to over-reaction and potential retribution. Now to say it’s coordinated seems to be escalating this and creating victims and villains. Why not simply listen?

I do appreciate @bouzy 's statement, but my understanding of the problem is that the terms of service aren't as clear as this? The parts about "sexually suggestive" don't explain what that means, and the ban on linking to anything "sexually explicit" seems like it could cause confusion too.

This is an extremely disheartening response. Updates to policies to provide better context are not a bad thing. #Romancelandia is an extremely popular corner of social media and you’re declaring outright that they cannot use Spoutible because you’re not willing to update a policy.

Courtney Milan has been a clerk for the US Supreme Court and the US Court of Appeals and she offered to help rework the TOS for free. This isn't rocket science.

You may not be able to please everyone, but you can and should take reasonable feedback without getting your hackles up. The TOS is unclear and poorly written. It needs a good edit before you end up in legal trouble.

to a shared fantasy
or her subtle touch
a promise
of seduction renewed
no
it was something more
like the rebirth of 2 souls
discovering the shelter

Would Jesus have spent $20 million on #SuperBowl commercials about himself? Or would he have used that money to help those in need?

Who's to say?

I'm calling it a day.

Hope the Superbowl goes well for everyone concerned, and that the referees don't screw up so badly everyone blames the outcome on their mistakes.

Good luck this week in all your non-football-related endeavors!

No idea why I thought this

I supplement my income driving Uber every Saturday in DC. Yesterday I had to drop off my Russian male passenger, about 35 years old, to the Russian Embassy to get some papers signed (he's had US citizenship for 6 months.) He was scared they were going to kidnap him. Makes me appreciate our freedom.

coffee is a ubiquitous thing here in germany, but i so far have not seen any cafes here in darmstadt that roast in-house and have a personal interest in the beans they choose and the flavors they can coax out of them for clientel
it's a bit disheartening
