I like the logo simply as the two water spout avatar image on our home screens. This says & *imagines* everything one needs to know, The water drops w/ the name allows one to imagine a whale on our own. it’s cute, bold & down to earth without being childlike; & it is very positive. 👏❤️

Hi Fern I’m getting desperate 😟
Nothing works.
This is the DOI and associated info
doi:10.17660/ActaHortic.2011.918.122
It’s a plant disease resistance paper.
Any thoughts on how to view more than the abstract?
Thanks 🙏

Hello Fern!
Thanks again for your useful thread :)
I used your Scihub website reference w a DOI number today to try getting a research paper. Only the abstract shows - like other websites (Springer, etc).
I was wondering if there is another way to get around that (damn!) paywall!? 😄

That’s great! 👏👍
Some folks only have iPhone 7’s or older.
They can’t update to the appropriate operating system to run the app.
I think 7’s can only update to iOS 15.77?
Prior years of phones of course, would not even be able to get that update.

This #ThreadChallenge has been wonderful! Such a pleasure to read all these great threads!
Please consider doing this every year!
What I like most about this kind of social media (🐦, 🐳,🦣, etc) are in fact the deep dive threads.
And the humor of the UK folks I interact with❤️👌😁
Thank you🙏

Riane, there are many reasons to want an ebike that works well off-road. (FYI they don’t look like city bikes).
My question is about what to do to minimize the battery explosion issue - that applies whether one has a City ebike or a Country ebike.

So my question to @brenttoderian was more about how to avoid that

Oh that’s not at all true..There are MANY off-road ebikes - they are particularly good because they are clean and *silent* in the woods, increasing enjoyment of nature.
But that is all besides the point. The batteries can explode, especially while stored, and cause HOUSE FIRES🔥

@BrentToderian
I’m worried about the ebike *batteries* that explode and cause fires—especially in a dry place like California.
It’s probably the main reason I haven’t bought an e- bIke.
What’s the best way to avoid that?
Thanks🙏
My comments on e-bikes, safe bike infrastructure, and more

Just keep in mind that some folks *can’t* update to the right iOS because they can’t afford to buy a new phone.
It’s not always the case that folks *don’t want to* update 😌

But don’t minimize your contribution ☺️
It’s GREAT to have all these resources in one place. Some I was not at all aware of, and I’m in the medical-science (veterinary) field!
It’s super helpful to know about the paywall bypasses too!! 🙏❤️

It is really important now, & will become increasingly important in the future, to be able to differentiate AI from handmade.
There is also a great web tool (Chicago?) being developed for artists to protect their work from AI scavenging and use w/o permission.
