An example of the terrible design: I add a podcast to the queue but it doesn’t end up on Up Next! Isn’t Up Next the question?

Thanks for the reminder about The Bishop’s Wife. I watched it a while back and remember that the ice rink scene was magical - film at its best. So I’ll watch it again this year.

That could be fairer, but a problem is that politicians draw boundaries that benefit them & their party. That's the point of citizen-led redistricting: let the public choose districts for the common good, not politicians to get power or a safe seat.

Look to the north to see what can happen with a fair redistricting process: Michigan's commission removed the years-long GOP gerrymander and now the Dem-run state govt is doing great things

A ballot initiative to create an independent redistricting board in Ohio might be launching soon, and they'll need lots of help to get signatures, etc. Here's a piece on it from August from DailyKos https://tinyurl.com/43zm93...

There seems to be little sense of urgency from the Dems in the Senate (many don't want to threaten their own hold privileges). Lots of condemnation, but no action. No rule change proposals, more hours in session, etc. Senate-itis at its worst.

There was a running joke on 30 Rock about one of the writers who went to Harvard and would bring it up in every conversation. Sometimes he'd be subtle: "You know, I went to college in Boston. Actually not in Boston, but at a place across the Charles River."

Do you think the judgement could also lead to civil lawsuits from Trump family lenders, business partners, etc.? Their terms were based on fraudulent claims from the Trumps.

I watched Genius this week and enjoyed its exploration of writers and editor. With Tom always rambling about something, how did he never ask Max Qs like "why are wearing a hat at the dinner table in your own house?" It all leads to the hat removal of course, but I missed the reason.

Hepburn's writing style is breezy and rambling, but she offers great behind-the-scenes details about the film. Like that the in the water scenes were filmed in England at a studio because of the risk of waterborne illness in Africa

I thought it was OK, a little messy like most of Chandler's stories. The costumes are by the legendary Edith Head. If you know the LA area, you can have fun with the location footage and geographical weirdness.
