As I say in the post, we need to say that unpopular right-wing policies (on abortion, guns, taxation, etc.) are REPUBLICAN policies. "Abortion bans? The people who support them are Republicans. Mass shooters with AR-15s? The people who want it to be easy to buy them are Republicans." Etc.

I'm much less skeptical of polls than you are. They're always inaccurate, but when they're done carefully, they suggest where public opinion is going.

Also, can't Rudes just buy a house in Florida and shield a huge amount of his wealth?

Jimmy in the flashback scenes of Margaret Atwood's "Oryx & Crake" - a guy who's smart but not accomplished, who gets to watch big things being done in his presence. In the novel, the most significant big thing is catastrophic, of course. But I feel like that kind of bystander.

How is it amplifying MSM talking points to say that Democrats did much better than polls predicted in several contests? That's just a straight-up fact. And last year when the MSM predicted a red wave and some GOP braggarts said it would be a red tsunami, that was a synonym for "overperform."

Democrats have been winning and overperforming in some races (e.g., the Wisconsin judicial race) - I meant to talk about that and realize now that I didn't.

Polls aren't clinically precise, especially a year out, but they're not random collections of numbers either. When so many of them point in the same direction, that's a hint.

Biden needs to win the popular vote by 4 or more to overcome the GOP's Electoral College advantage. He's not close.

No, that's not how it works. The Senate hasn't always had 100 senators - it's always had two per state. In the decades before Alaska and Hawaii became states, there were 48 states and 96 senators. If we add two states, there'll be 104 senators.

The polls didn't predict a red wave in 2022. They predicted what happened. Liberal media figures read them and said, "Surely this must be wrong, because all the Republicans we have on speed dial say there's going to be a red wave."

Wake me when there's a comeuppance. All I see are four indictments that have turned a 15-point Trump lead in the primaries to a nearly 40-point lead, while not having any negative impact on his general-election polling.
