I gave Monkey his fluids for the first time tonight and it went well. He didn't fight it and I didn't poke myself with the needle or get liquid everywhere. It's been an hour and he's doing fine. But he didn't want his photo taken.

I still had dye left in my trash can indigo vat so I dyed a kilogram of wool yarn. I had to add more reducing agent and when you put protein fibers in high pH, you can add hide glue to protect, but I tried regular gelatin instead (should be same and less stinky and also cheaper).

I have this idea for a project and rather than buying pre-dyed fabric I thought I would dye it myself. So I needed a BIG indigo vat for this stage. This is a 55 gallon trash can I got at Home Depot (I also bought wheels for it).

Clicked on a local news story about a murder. Story had a connection to North Myrtle Beach, SC. Story had the following paragraph (don't forget I was reading a NEWS story about a MURDER).

In general, North Myrtle Beach is part of the Grand Strand along the South Carolina coast. The tourist destination is filled with shops, restaurants, beaches and oceanfront resorts. Many people come to kick back, unwind, and enjoy the family-friendly beaches and, of course, the fresh seafood along the Atlantic Ocean.

Today I learned something new from an ad. A refrigerated container is also sometimes called a "reefer" container. Because I looked at the image and thought, wow, that is a lot of marijuana.
