I went through something somewhat similar. Understand, I have my own money and can buy my own things. But when car shopping, the dealer routinely spoke to, and looked at my husband. Even my husband got frustrated after a while!

I'm still angry about that.

I detest this "Supreme" Court.

Unelected, un-American, unqualified.

I see zero reason to do so.

I'm plenty impressed with President Biden and VP Harris. They are the incumbents. I support them.

Back in the 1970's when I first started voting as an 18 year old, I'd have described myself as a centrist.

The older I've gotten the more leftward I've gone.

"Wild Abandon"...is that a new toilet paper scent? I can just smell it now - kind of like various food, booze, and sweat scents lingering after Lollapalooza.

Also, did the men all get the memo? Asking for a friend.

This totally resonates with me.

Now I understand that *my* voices of wisdom, most of whom are dead, probably didn't feel ready to fill those shoes either.

For real.

The best I could do was to treat myself and my teachers (I supervised 21 HS science teachers) like professionals. Nothing I could do about how the district perceived us. It's been the same at every school I know of - and I met with many colleagues from various schools.

So I feel great!

I wish more people cared about *everyone* who strikes or unionizes - when we lift any of us up, it's more likely that we can lift all of us up.

The rich/corporations have more than enough. Everyday workers advocating for fair pay is the American way (at least, it used to be). #WGAstrike

My mother was a genealogist, I have her side of the family back to the 1700's.

I took a page from her book, and esp. with the advent of the internet, I found my Norwegian cousins. We visit them when we can. I'm so happy to know my dad's side.

And I agree, U.S. slavery was *so* recent.

That seems to be a phenomenon that is occurring in my life as well.

Not sure what it's all about, but I'm very ready for it to be finished.

I keep reminding myself that endings are just the next beginning.
