a few years back, i gave myself permission to “pause” books.
which i don’t regret; but,
“resume” has maybe a 15% success rate for me 😂

from such situations.
worst of all are the times i felt i could not.

maybe my biggest criticism of
“it’s kind of a funny story” (2010)
— which goes a long way toward making this point —
is that it culminates in a romantic relationship “happy ending” which, while obviously lovely, kind of overshadows everything else

right? what about the poor depressives who are binging milk chocolate because they were told it was a good way to cut down on alcohol?

drive by sound bite advice makes me cranky. but right now, so do most things. so i’ll not be giving up my cold brew just yet, kthx.

it’s so true.

i’m not winning that battle right now.
exhausted & sick from the residual toxins of shouting for years just to get myself to move forward.
and depression is in agreement with the external voices, once trusted, of negative validation: nothing worth saving here, given the option.
