The term “woke" was created by Black people referring to being alert to systemic racial injustices. The first documented use of the phrase “stay woke” happened in the 1930s when Lead Belly ended his song by advising Blacks traveling through Alabama to “stay woke.”

It's been eight days since I deleted my Twitter account.

I have no regrets. I don't miss the lack of engagement or the behavior of trolls over there. I savor the regular engagement and the lack of trolls over here. Best of all, I love the constant upgrades and new users.

Spoutible is home. 🙂

#spoutiblesuggestions how about, when you quote a spout containing a GIF or image, your spout will also show that image and not just the original spouter's comment to said image? Makes no sense if someone quotes a spout and adds a comment if you can't see what's commented upon.

Photographer Jonathan Nimerfroh found himself staring at an ocean full of Slurpee. The waters of the Atlantic Ocean looked like it due to the unusually cold temperatures that were making it freeze. Lakes freeze every year, but the ocean freezing is a rare sight.

It's too cold to want to walk today, so here's a picture from a recent outing to tide us both over.
