Publishers routinely make choices on who to give contracts to and when not to publish a book. If they don't think a book will sell, if it is poorly written, if it is too controversial, if they can't get it legally cleared, etc. Not sure what politics has to do with a publisher making a choice.

Right there with you sib. Not one game since Kaep. While supporting Kaep, my eyes were opened to the plight of former players with no access to health insurance. CTE is horrible but there are so many other debilitating health issues these guys deal with. The NFL is truly a despicable organization!

Nope, no judgment from me and I write, edit, do comms/PR, teach college writing, etc. Language is all about meaning. So the prescriptive rules are not my primary concern. If I understand what someone is trying to communicate, I'm good. When I don't -and I care enough- I ask clarifying questions.

Yup, and while this AG is republican. The city led - elected officials who are mainly democrats are attacking the voting rights of the people. I won't guess about whether their efforts are coordinated. But I will say the entirety of the body politic is wrecking havoc on the rights of citizens in GA.

Also why we need more teachers who look like the students they teach. I taught 8th ELA for a hot sec. For the poetry unit, I had my students create a group poem, then had a local rapper turn it into a song & come perform it for the students. That 1 assignment shifted my students feelings abt poetry.
