I really enjoyed Hollow Beasts by Alisa Valdes. It was really gripping. I reread it before I returned it to the library.

The River Always Wins, by David Marquis; Deep Vellum Press - watershed function as an allegory for social impact in nearly poetic prose.

I haven't finished it yet, but Sorcerer to the Crown by Zen Cho. Before that, probably Half a Soul by Olivia Atwater.

An Anonymous Girl by Greer Hendricks & Sarah Pekkanen. Serious suspense and the ending was just WOW.

Mad Honey by Jodi Picoult also.

"Caste" by Isabel Wilkerson. It's so good, I marked with a pencil the parts I wanted to reread and remember.

This year I've been re-reading many of my childhood/adolescent favorites:

The Hobbit, The Secret Garden, A Wrinkle in Time, The Witch of Blackbird Pond, I Know Why The Caged Bird Sings, The Wind in the Willows.

They read so differently as a middle aged adult and I've been loving them . . .

The most recent book I read was already a re-read - “Disloyal” by Michael Cohen. Reading his follow-up book “Revenge” now.

I rarely reread because there are just so many things left TO read. Both of these are several years ago but, Red Notice because the connection to current events is greater than most realize; and Revenge by Laura Blumenfeld because I feel like I need to review the options in light of current events.

The Ocean at the End of the Lane by Neil Gaiman. It reminded me of Ray Bradbury's 'Something Wicked this way comes', beautiful prose, haunting story, from a child's perspective.

I loved 'The Secret Life of Bees'! Inspired me to read other books by Sue Monk Kidd. My favorites are 'The Mermaid Chair', 'The Invention of Wings' and 'The Book of Longings'.

I re-read portions of the Game of Thrones books all the time. No matter which book you open up and which chapter you open to, it's pretty much a guarantee that something compelling is happening that you want to find out how it ends.

I rarely reread books because I usually have a long list to get through. I do regularly reread The Lord of the Rings. Right now I am rereading the Mercy Carr series by Paula Munier.
