Labor Day reminder: If the min wage increased at the rate of inflation & productivity since 1960 it'd be $26 today—not $7.25. Meaning—billionaires & corps have stolen at least $19/hour from working Americans for 60 years.

We don't suffer a lack of resources—but an excess of greed.

Doesn't compute at all. Do you think minimum wage workers should make over $50K per year? 😂😂

The purpose of minimum wage was to ensure workers made a living wage - based on COL in much of the US $50k isn't a living wage, it should be higher.

It should be but was designed so people could have a minimal standard of living. I was making minimum wage in 1968 driving a combine on my stepfathers farm. Not sure how anyone could live on that. But a $50K minimum wage would be insane.

I'm aware of what year it is. Thanks. Minimum wage is to get you in the door. It's up to the individual to bust their ass and move up.
My first real job at 23 was selling stereo equipment on straight commission. In four years I was district manager over San Antonio and Corpus Christi. 70 hour weeks

Minimum wage wasn't established to "get you in the door". It was meant to be a living wage.

Minimum wage was meant to be a family wage when it was passed, not “to get you in the door”. 🙄
