I was on LJ from 2004-2011ish, and on FB from 2009. I use FB just to stay in touch with family. Spoutible is so much like LJ in terms of building community & art that my heart aches sometimes.

Feel I have to stay on twitter for the State Missouri Dem & legislative connections. I’d leave if not for the Dem groups & connections. The porn & violence on X is intolerable

Multiple other platforms seldom used

I appreciate the News add here. I should engage more here & get to know more folks

I'm thinking this question was directed to Roxxy Riot, not the rest of us. So I don't wanna be listing the dozen or two socmed sites I've used consistently. But I will say that Metafilter, Plag**, and Campfire have not been equalled in their respective niches.

I still go on Twitter, not as much, but I follow some Black Twitter and Black Gay Twitter folks that's just hilarious people.

Spoutible has a different audience. Older group, more educated and smart humor.

I still have FB, but never go on. Twitter was my only big SM site, but never really posted for fear of mean people. Still on there to follow animal rescue/foster people. I feel safer here and enjoy all of the shenanigans that happen.

I've been active on social media for 40 years now -- BBSes, Usenet, mailing lists, LiveJournal, Facebook, Instagram, Tw*tt*r, LinkedIn, Google+, Spoutible -- and keep meaning to get around to spouting about my take on a particular aspect of Spoutible through some of this context/perspective.

Facebook, family only. A way to keep up with out of state relatives.
Instagram, only to follow my grandkids
Spoutible, replaced Twitter for me after Musk ruined it. But Spoutible is better than Twitter ever was. I use it for news, politics, food/recipes, and relaxation.

Forgot POST, abandoned when they said accessibility not a priority. Threads is a Z property, hard no, Mastodon impossible to navigate. Blue sky is a Dorsey property, no guard rails, hard no.
Spoutible gives muting, blocking, editing, curating of DMs, and a friendly group, rarely dismissive. Good!

Twitter for many years, with a community of artists, writers, medieval scholars, fiber arts groups, tapering off now my community is vanishing. Never Facebook, because of policy of claiming ownership of posted material inc my original art, never ig, another subsid. of Z. Trying to reestablish here.

Dumped Instagram when they wouldn't let me into my account without giving them my birthdate. NOYDB

Im still on Facebook. I look in on threads, but I don’t post there. I get update emails from Post, but I haven’t felt the need to wander over there. I deleted my account on the bird app and then removed the app from my devices. I only post here.

FB is for family and friends
YT is for learning everyfuckingthing
Instagram is for the art
Twitter is . . . well sewage if I'm being honest
Spoutible is where the community is, where I feel safe, where I can share, where I meet lovely people. It's wonderful.

I'm on X, Post and (sort of, I hardly use it) tribel. The community here is what stands out. Post has a great community too, but it takes a little while to really become an 'insider' over there, while I was welcomed with open arms from my 1st spout and have been treated kindly ever since.

SPOUTIBLE IS A PHENOMENON. It’s an ENTIRELY different experience. You don’t get boosted because you’re famous or popular or controversial. We’re equals. You build up following based on the strength content shared vs some algorithm based engagement. Not being algorithm-ed to smithereens feels fine!

Been on FB for years but really only use it now to see my memories and check in on friends. Too many ads now. I used Twitter all the time before the takeover. Now just check what’s trending. I use IG to see what my grown grandkids are up to. Spoutible is my home. Much more interaction and community

I love Spoutible because of its thoughtful design/UX. Also active on Threads, Bluesky, TiKTok, Tumblr, Reddit, Pinterest, and a platform for patients called The Mighty. I use FB/Insta out of necessity, to keep in touch with a few people, but I hate Meta overall. I deleted all my Twitter accounts.

Got on & off FB VERY early hoping it'd be Friendster-like 😆 Soured me completely on the entire SM thing 'til 2016, when I joined Twitter. Left there asap post-Musk, tried CounterSocial, Mastodon, & Post. Loathed all but Post, where I no longer, um, post 😅 - too dull. Spoutible is IT for me. 💛

Bluesky and Discord, but so far, Discord is for family-only use.

Bsky has a very different vibe, but until the fascists get a foothold, I like it there.
And, I like it here.

I'm probably quite a bit left of many folks here, but old enough to know how our 2 party system "works" so I vote blue.

The fascists already have a foothold from what I've been seeing recently. Screenshots that others post, since I've somehow gotten on a blocklist they use. But even if I don't see them, they're still there.. And then there's this:

I had a FB acct and Twitter. Once it was obvious FB was promoting hate, I was done. Left Twitter when Elon bought. I still have a reddit acct to lurk and see what the repubs think.

Spoutible is more fun, and I don't have to be afraid to post here. I'm staying unless @cbouzy kicks me out. 😜
