Recently, I saw a post online with this challenge: "Without saying your age, say something a young person today wouldn't understand."

For me, it was The Phone.

I vaguely remember a flag and a patriotic song playing before the screen became snow.

Yes. We've moved from places having phone numbers to people having phone numbers. That is a bigger cultural shift than I think many people realize.

Waiting by the radio to hear a song that you wanted to record and hastily hitting the REC and PLAY button on the cassette player and then getting angry when the DJ talked over the beginning and end of the song.

LOL! Absolutely!

Also, calling the radio station over and over to request a song.

Or, when tape recorders and radios were two separate things, finally finding a completely quiet time/place to record that favorite song…the sneeze that comes out of nowhere!

Remember when getting a phone call might kick you offline because you could either be on dial up or on the phone?

When we go to camp, the TV is on an antenna. The kids don't understand why they can't watch the Saturday morning cartoons anytime they want while we're at camp.

The time lady

How about having to wait until September for the new season of your fav show? And then it ran for 22-24 episodes not 9-10.

And finally only 7 TV channels.

Sending a collect call to your parents to tell you to get picked up from the mall or the movies and then not accepting the charges. And then you magically get picked up at the mall
