I’ve been “going to” make a mobile/wind chime out of all these old keys for way too many years now. At one time my master plan was to put a current key in it, just in case I lock myself out! But where would I put the darned thing 🤔 🫤

My uncle always called the "junk" drawer the "possible" drawer since it is possible you might find what are looking for.

No one mentioned this one....seeds that have long since expired beyond being able to plant & grow anything. BTW, husband's former museum had a very large historic mansion, and the kitchen inside it had a junk drawer with a lot of the items listed in the posts. Rich people's junk is just like ours!

- Batteries of dubious age and/or strength
- Pencils that need sharpening
- A misplaced kitchen gadget or utensil
- Rubberbands with most of the stretch gone
- That weird part to that thing you were going to fix...eventually...but it's been so long, you've since thrown out that "thing"

I have a metal box that was designed to hold those old 3x5 index cards. It is full of keys that I have no idea what they belong to. I've been through it many times and have thrown a few out but something keeps me from just dumping it.

when i was 6, i organized every space & possession in my half of my bedroom, including my junk drawer. my 6yo junk drawer included troll dolls, playing cards, pencils, chapsticks & jacks. since then, i’ve fought off any junk drawers in my spaces.
