If I see one more comment on Instagram about not seeing color, I'm going to snap. You're supposed to see color! You're supposed to acknowledge people's differences while treating them with respect and kindness anyway. "We all bleed red." Bitch, you will bleed if you say that dumb shit again. 😒 😡

When a white person says they don't see color what they are saying is 'you're white enough for me'.

No it doesn't. I genuinely don't notice.

I was watching a program (series) that I like and one of the characters commented on his being black, and that was the first time I had noticed.

I suspect that this is less likely in the US where race is a big deal.

Andrew, it seems like you're disagreeing with her statement that saying "I don't see color" is racist. Is that what you're saying?

Because you need to check your bias. When a person of color tells you it's racist to say something, then you need to listen to them, examine your reaction, and try to learn.
What you said here, IS racist. If you don't know why, then figure that out & then do better.

I'm saying that to me, the colour of a person's skin is no more relevant than their eye colour (with a 'u'). I suspect that not being American has a lot to do with it.

Most of the time I genuinely don't notice.
