No it doesn't. I genuinely don't notice.

I was watching a program (series) that I like and one of the characters commented on his being black, and that was the first time I had noticed.

I suspect that this is less likely in the US where race is a big deal.

I encourage you to look into the history of how settlers in Canada have treated First Nations people. In particular, the residential schools and law enforcement.

It's just as big a deal in Canada, but nobody talks enough about it.

I totally agree. First Nations people have been, and continue to be, treated abominably in this country.

At least we now have an indigenous Premier in Manitoba. It's a start.
