I took this photo the other day while my better half was telling me there is nothing wrong with doggy bags. Am I the only person who doesn't like to bother with doggy bags?

Maybe call it a box. The term "doggie bag" sounds euphemistic or childlike.

Taking good food home is a great idea, because:
- you paid for it,
-it's great leftover, and
-it's yours.

As a food writer in a resort community, I can attest that even at a Ritz-Carlton asking for a box is smart.

'Doggie bag" sounds too much like a bag used to pick up after a dog. 🙂

The term started w food for the dog.

Speaking of, in bars drink(s) in plastic cups were called doggy bags sometimes ... to take home or drink while driving. 😳

Also popular in my experience in the deep south was 2-for-1 happy hours, so if you were about to leave ...

What derelicts.🙄
