In Australia, they're called Vege-Mites.

A whole new context to be had if someone smiled and gave me a Vege-Mite sandwich.

In an episode of Survivorman with Les Stroud, he was in the Australian Outback and an item he ate was witchety grubs. To be honest, it didn't seem too bad, though in a natural environment was probably unsustainable.

Witchetty grubs have been bush tucker (food) for native Australians for millenia.

Doing a quick Google search I found links to some studies into future farming of Witchetty grubs for widespread human consumption.

I've had mealworms as a bar snack and honestly it was pretty good. Cooked but not completely dried out, seasoned.

I haven't eaten any grubs or worms myself but I did eat some deep fried locusts seasoned with lemon and pepper in Vietnam - they weren't bad either!

Nice! It's a stepwise approach to get rid of food bias. Lots of unlearning to do.
