I showed my brother the free Merlin bird identifier app I learned about from @katiebean & he was thrilled because he walks in the park so often. Within minutes we had heard a red-wing blackbird, robin, & Baltimore oriole, all identified in the same chirping chorus. It is a fabulous app.

So cool! I went to my backyard just now and by sound it identified a sparrow, finch, grackle and dove all chirping at the same time! Amazing! Must show my grandkids tomorrow!!

I showed my nephew and he got hooked. He even did a science project for 2nd grade looking at if yards with lawns vs ones with native plants had more birds. Luckily their neighborhood has enough of each around the house

He was like "now I have something to talk about with the birders in here."
