I was concerned Spoutible's lack of an algorithm would make this place a bit dull. It's forcing me to dig a bit deeper into other's timelines and I'm finding awesome tidbits everywhere. When someone follows you, take the time to explore their posts, lots of great and interesting folks here!

This spout was removed because the account associated with it was suspended.

It's really a lot of fun! So much better than doom scrolling!

When someone follows me I follow back and send a spout telling them Welcome to let them know they are welcome in my little family.

Little family will be expanding rapidly! So pleased to connect with cool folks. I've had more interactions with people on Spoutible in a few weeks than on Twitter for years. This place is already special.

Great advice. I also always open on the Explore tab vs. the Following tab. I've discovered some interesting and thoughtful people to follow that way.

Yep, Timeline is great for big events and news, while Explore is like eating chocolates with Forrest Gump!

This is great advice, Timothy.

And when you do it on CERTAIN profiles, you get cake and some amazing dinosaur porn haiku.

It does take more effort & thoughtful consideration to be active here on #Spoutible

I try to read every “quote echo” and add to the conversation.

Not every post people “echo” I see gets me engaged unless it’s relevant to me.

Haven't found dinosaur porn haikus yet, but I'll keep an eye out for it, lol!

Agreed - I think that’s what’s helped make Spoutible unique so far. Everyone is generally cordial, can share links, content, etc and have had great interactions so far. No algos to stir up trouble like the other platforms. 😊

You are exactly right. It takes a bit more effort here to discover the gems, and isn't that the point? We aren't here to simply accept what the algorithm decides to feed us.

Sometimes it takes a shock to our system, a friendly nudge in a different direction, for us to see from a different perspective. Change is a bit scary, but so often rewarding.

I have not had a dull moment here. There is humour, animals, funny stories, even a few games, politics, health, and wise words, and I have had more laughs in the short time Spoutible has been accessible than in all my years on bird poop place. :D

Agreed, I have experienced more authentic laughs on Spoutible over the past few weeks than over the past two years on Twitter!

Also it needs to handle long spout threads better, it doesn't open to show them when interacting with the spout like on the bird.

That's a known issue, it'll get fixed eventually. My understanding is that the team have bigger fish to fry right now, like the mobile app and performance improvements.

Yeah, Spoutible is still clunky, no doubt. But we're seeing steady and transparent progress every week. After all we've been through, we can handle the problems and have confidence our concerns are listened to and addressed. Great trajectory here!
