My current favorite is Shantaram, Gregory David Roberts ( author) story of his travel to India after escaping prison in Australia. An adventure novel with
excitement and an emotional roller coaster. I listened to audible and read the kindle version together. Loved it! #Reading

2nd fave of 2021:

- The Space Between Worlds by Micaiah Johnson. Travel between parallel worlds is possible, but only if your "double" isn't alive there, so billionaires recruit travelers from the world's throwaway people, like child soldiers or folks from crushing poverty. An incredible debut.

1/2 favorite books of 2021

- The Ministry for the Future by Kim Stanley Robinson. Is there ANYTHING that can be done to mitigate coming climate disaster? Should we murder billionaires, kidnap officials, disappear crypto $? Who has any leverage? I think about this s/f book at least once a week.

Imajica by Clive Barker. I have read this a few times. I still think about some part of it almost daily.

Book singular? Impossible. But a few that come to mind:
Collected Poems of Langston Hughes
Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy
Lysistrata (which is a play 1st performed in 411 BC; a story for our time)
Any novel by Lawrence Block
Any collection of stories by James Thurber or PG Wodehouse.

"Old Man's War" by @scalzi
Sci-Fi ("hard" military sci-fi, actually) but the prelude into the main story is heartbreaking and, if you stick with his work, so f'ing rewarding.

I don't have a favorite but the most enjoyable book I've read this year is Naomi Novik's magical fantasy Uprooted.

Hard to say if I have a favorite but there are so many books I enjoy. Most recent reads include Caste, The Love Songs of W.E.B. DuBois, and the All Souls trilogy by Deborah Harkness.

Sense & Sensibility. I wish the film, though absolutely wonderful, would've highlighted the equitable friendship between Elinor and Colonel Brandon more.

I don't really have 1 favorite or even a top 10, but what jumped into my head was Norwegian Wood by Haruki Murakami.
