Let’s see how this goes here:

I’m already streaming

I’m going to start stream

I’m staying with cable.

RS_ Thomas @RSThomas42
I don't miss cable one bit. I'm paying a fraction of the cost on streaming services and getting a whole lot more.

My husband insists on keeping cable. He has MLB network, NHL Network & NFL Network + the Red Zone during football season. He won’t give up cable even though I agree it’s a ripoff! I’m happy with just Hulu, Netflix, Amazon Prime & Peacock. 🤷‍♀️

I have both as it was cheaper to bundle cable/internet with my cable provider to have faster internet speeds than the fastest speed package my local phone company offered.
I have Amazon Prime w/a fire stick, I get select streaming services free with my Prime membership including local channels.

What do you think about Hulu as a streaming platform?

I want a platform that includes live local TV and channels (without the hefty price tag).

To anyone out there considering cutting the cord on cable….just do it! Get someone (younger/techy) to help you if you need to. They’ll be happy to hook you up and you won’t regret it! You’ll never. Look. Back!!!

The only thing I miss about cable is the DVR. When we switched to streaming during Covid so many of the shows that I watched were not filming and I have forgotten a lot of them. I now spend my evenings flitting from platform to platform trying to remember what I watch where and when.

I use TVTime to keep track of the shows I watch. I love it because it gives me reminders for when new seasons premiere, as well as the option to share reactions and vote for characters. It also tells you where you can stream. Even if you don't want to do all the extras, the tracking is very helpful.

There’s an App that is very useful

This on IOS but there’s for Android too.
It’s free! 🐳📺📚💙

I’m streaming but can’t cut the cable due a certain family member who doesn’t want to learn how to stream- they prefer mindless TV running & channel switching. 📺

It kills me that she pays so much for just a few channels.

I have cable internet and phone. I haven't owned a TV for over 20 years, so no TV cable is needed. I also don't use streaming services because 1) there's very little they offer that I want to watch, and 2) if I do want to watch something, I can usually find it online somewhere to download for free.

I haven't done it because it isn't cheaper once you have to subscribe to several streaming channels to get what you want and higher speed internet to handle all of the streaming. I may need to look at it again tho, it's been a while since I added it up and it's constantly changing.

I don't include the cost of internet in the streaming budget since I would have Internet anyway. I looked at what I would be paying (full price) for DTV, then that amount is what I have per month to spend on streaming entertainment.

Check out the home internet services from your phone company. We got Verizon 5G and it is fast AF and 1/3 the price of our cable company. They also often offer discounts on streaming services
