I'm so proud of my foster kitty, Sugar! She was so scared of everything when she got here but is coming out of her shell. While she still hisses at Tabitha my other cat, I've actually caught her (almost) snuggling with the dogs.

Chicagoland people - this sweet cat is ready for her forever home! 🥰

Ugh so disappointed in the Pretty Litter company.

They have been selling small cans of wet food at Target for about a year and my elderly cat loves it. Also and more importantly, it's one of the few foods she can eat without upsetting her sensitive elderly kitty tummy.

However, Target is no longer

When I was in Shanghai, I found this on one of the tourist maps and while it doesn't specifically say Fuck You it's pretty damn close.

I couldn't reasonably ask anyone where Fu You Road was without it sounding suspiciously like I was swearing. 😁

Hi Spoutible! Meet my foster kitty, Sugar!

It has taken 2 days but she is finally starting to explore a bit. She is as sweet as her name implies. She also loves belly rubs.

So many lakes to choose from! Ahh!! I decided to go with Laguna Colorada a small lake in the altiplano desert in Bolivia and near the border of Chile. The algae gives the lake its pink to red colour depending on the time of day.

Also it has flamingos and alpacas! 🦩🦙😍

The pink lake sits centre with flamingos dotted through the waters. Looming behind the lake is a large mountain to the right and smaller mountains to the left. At the entrance to the lake there is an alpaca drinking the water.

Instead of the usual snapshot of Machu Picchu, I'm going to go with one from the grounds, looking over some of the ruins with the clouds so close you could touch them.

For any history nerds out there, Machu Picchu is a special place and very worth visiting if you can!

Did anyone else see the moon tonight?

It is so beautiful. Crescent moon but the outline of the entire moon can be seen behind it. So many of my neighbours were all out looking at it too. Just gorgeous!

I love hiking on days like today. The weather was perfect - just about 60 degrees so not too hot or too cold. Also, as it's still technically winter it is much easier to spot wildlife - like this deer!

Sitting up on in the dunes of Huacachina, Peru I watched this other traveler surf for some time. I asked if I could take his picture and thankfully he said yes.

This is also, Tabitha. She sleeps most of the day. Afternoon she comes out for a snack and in the evening she turns into a snuggle monster. However, at night she turns into a parkour expert who causes havoc and chaos while the dogs and I sleep.

This is Tabitha, the tarantula who lives out my front door. She just sleeps most of the winter down that hole. If you look closely, you can see legs. In a month or so, we will see her every night. She keeps our area free of creepy crawlies.

When I was young we spent a lot of time in the summers in northern Ontario. Spending the summers in the back woods is honestly some of my favourite memories.

We sometimes would go into town and I was an avid reader so would love to get books from the library. When I was about 11 I found a book

Here is a Spanish version for those who need it. This is handy to share, especially in the new migrant communities. At my job we found that the first winter in Chicago was especially tough for them coming from warmer climates and they didn't know how to dress for extreme cold.
