So what, exactly, is the point of caring about these rethuglican primaries?

Are we honestly expected to believe that the party would let something like "fewer votes" stop TFG from getting the nomination?

The best thing that could happen is for Haley to win the GOP nom. There are enough trumpanzees that will never vote for a) a woman or b) someone who was born "Nimarata Randhawa" AND she's completely incapable of using dogwhistles to soften her anti-labor stance.

Genuine question: when was the last time that a true "conservative" principle was used to actually benefit the country?

It could be social or economic, I'll take either. I honestly can't think of a single thing from the last 40 years that qualifies.

Anyone ever noticed the justification used by the left and the right for denigrating the other side?

The right thinks the left is stupid.

The left thinks the right are bad people.

At least "stupid" can be fixed with education. Not sure how you fix RWNJs...

The idea that everyone is "paid what they're worth" has proven to be a cruelly effective way to put the blame on workers for not getting ahead — while giving the rich and powerful cover to rig the game for their own benefit.

Non-competes are a trap.

They block workers from seeking out higher wages or better conditions.

Meanwhile, they sabotage the economy by depriving growing businesses of needed talent.

They serve one thing only: corporate monopolies who want to kill off their competition.

How do you folks use the ratings?

I have the Chrome extension for twitter and I've found that I don't actively look at the ratings while skimming threads, but when I see something extra-dickish I tend to just look and see what the rating says...

How is it that "both sides" have managed to end up with completely different beliefs around core concepts like "freedom"?

The right thinks "freedom" means "freedom to be an asshole/bigot without consequences"

The left thinks "freedom" means "freedom to be left alone and live my life in peace"
