It's been on and off here for months now, and while this isn't the worst we've seen, it's the most coverage - All of Alberta (and big parts of BC/Sask to either side), over 1/2 of Montana, ND, and Minnesota, some of Wyoming, most of SD, as well as Iowa and Wisconsin, it's a brutal amount of smoke

It's sadly a mass disabling event, numbers showing that 1/10 infections results in Long Covid (not per person, per infection) seem to show that being an optimitic number. We're in a little bit of trouble. 😟

He's this generation's Charles Manson, with a large cult of idiocy - his actions have resulted in far more deaths than Manson ever dreamed of. Between Covid blunders, and leaked intel exposing operatives globally, the man has an insane body count and a river of blood on his hands.

Mainstream media reporting on her? *crickets*

We have a serious problem with political information being ignored in this entire country - almost like letting greedy billionaires (or American MAGAts in the case of Postmedia) control narratives is a bad idea.

I think there's a few issues exacerbating the whole thing. One, conservatives used to say the right things, and Two, once someone has been fooled, they'd rather pretend they're smarter than that and cling to the lie, than admit they were fooled.

We need to clean up politics, and move back to a system that supports people - people are the economy, the more people that thrive, the better the economy does.

I'm not an NDP member, nor a member of any political party - no affiliation, but I am fervently anti Reform (the political party that spawned the CPC, UCP, and took over the Canadian Conservative Movement. They're evil. I support the NDP in Alberta because it's all we have that's sane.

I'm a democratic socialist who leans progressive, and I believe government should serve the people, not corporate interests. I believe in public health care, public education, and public good - capitalism should be reserved for wants and desires, never needs.

Our health care, education, judicial system, emergency response systems, policing, pensions... they're all in danger. Now is not the time to say "politics are not for me", now is the time to stand up and cast a vote to protect those systems, and yourself. Take care!

Don't like wasteful spending? Paying to see a doctor?
May 29, 2023 is election day in Alberta - we need to kick the UCP Oil Lobby group out of government, and get the government back to working for Albertans, rather than mostly foreign oil companies.

2.1 billion to cancel the oil by rail contracts the NDP arranged.

That's 23.6 billion they blew (or want to blow) on nothing. Nada.

Fiscal conservatism is about spending in a fiscally responsible way, and all of that is excessive spending on nothing. /4

1.5 billion on a pipeline that had a very low chance of ever being made IF Trump won in 2020, and no chance if Biden won. A lot of money to gamble on a long shot.
20 billion on RStar - pay oil companies to clean up a mess they are already required to clean up, and can afford. /3

The AB NDP is quite progressive socially, but is very fiscally conservative - they don't spend what they don't have, they're responsible. The UCP is very socially conservative, very fiscally unrestrained (NOT fiscally conservative) - they're happy to throw money away on bets. /2

I only suggest this because
1) the PC Party in Alberta is dead
2) the AB NDP isn't connected to the federal party
3) it would fix the issue of lifetime conservatives voting for a name they do not trust, and since it's honest (rare these days) it would be genuine.

I think the AB NDP have a very good chance of winning the election, but the UCP losing enough seats to lose party status? If people were paying attention it would be much better, but too many just see the word "conservative" on a ballot and vote for it out of habit.

A "Well Regulated Militia" is a group organized by a State Government or the National Government, and the government is required to provide them with weapons - sounds a little socialist. No allowance for people buying their own weapons or using them outside of militia duties.
