According to Google, the "death watch", is a tradition from Europe and the Jewish community. It's a time for loved ones of a dying person to share their last words and thoughts of love with the dying individual BEFORE they pass away.

I met Jimmy Carter at one of his book signings. He had written a book about his mother and came to Sam's Club on his book tour. I'd never met a person with such an angelic presence before. I was in awe.

I still remember my middle school Home Ec course with Mrs. Scheibe. One of our final exams was to make a T-shirt from scratch. It was fun.
I also remember how forgiving Mrs. Scheibe was when I handed her a finished shirt with holes in it where I got a little out of hand with the stitch remover. B+

If God abandons us, he’s elected, will be no more SS, Medicaid/Medicare and food stamps. I am dreading this day. We seniors will sleep in front of food banks. We will lose our homes. We will die in troves. Who will burry us. My child can hardly make it after for years of college.
