I know lettuce and carrots will grow in winter and roughly when to plant them. This year I want to try others. Warmer winters is the only advantage of this extreme sauna (periodically topped with hurricanes) that I live in.

I have some type of beetles that bore holes thru the rind. I also have a larval form that does the same thing. No clue to the names of the culprits. Hoping for at least one melon this year.

So does this make spouters who are gardeners "sprouters", "Kelpies", "growpods", or something else?

All my tomato plants are doing well, even though this week had extreme heat. My peppers are a mixed bag. My kitchen-mini peppers are in the best shape. Cantaloupe has some melons maturing. However, my Brussels sprouts have been preyed on heavily.

Not sure because it came from a mixed seed packet, but I thought this one was a teddy bear sunflower.

In my garden, whenever leaves look like that last pic, it is usually cabbage worms. I usually go looking to remove them early in the morning and leave the bodies of the larger ones on the tops of leaves. Then the wasps help me with pest control.

That year, I chitted potatoes out of a bag of"Gemstone Potatoes". I believe this lovely purple stem and pink flowers were from the Purple Peruvian or the Ruby Crescent. Purple Peruvians usually make purple flowers, though.

Gardening is one of the things that keep me sane. There is just something about growing plants that I can eat or that I have never grown before. Feel free to enjoy my garden adventures with me.
