I love love LOVE that Derek lets me embrace my crone powers here! Gotta have some of us out front with that! Even Xander grew a mane for it.

This pectoral with gold, coins, & a pseudo-medallion is from the Byzantine Empire (Egypt), 539-550. It was donated to the Metropolitan Museum of Art by J. P
Morgan in 1917, & lent to the Cleveland Museum of Art for this exhibition, which runs through July 21.

Xander has literally been up with the birds. It is a 70° day with the front door open & the chatter has had him crouched at the door watching live "Bird TV" for hours, until he's pooped and on my lap. My 2nd cup of coffee will have to wait, I guess. #CatsOfSpoutible

This photo brought me tears of joy for all the couples I know who could now legally marry. The PRIDE flag waves atop Cleveland's City Hall on the day of the SCOTUS decision to affirm LGBT marriage, 6/26/2015. Our city began issuing licenses immediately.

As usual Aaron is articulate about the needs of his community. I have learned more about autism on this platform thanks to @beec4240 & others than anywhere else.

On the social media platform where I've been spending most of my time, we were discussing this podcast.

One person remarked "What stuck with me is the phrase “if you know one autistic person, you know ONE autistic person.” I think it really encapsulates the complexities of autism."

I hate it lol

This kind of exchange couldn't happen without our local #BuyNothing group. Selena is an organizer & everything she does epitomizes the ethos that it is about community connecting, not stuff.

My neighbor Selena came to my porch to pick up mugs & a jewelry pliers & I agreed to have her organize a "hop" sometime in June in my backyard pavilion: a 2 hour event with a craft activity & a neighborhood acoustic house duo Rabbit & Dragon. Summer fun!

#Spoutories #accuse

I used to accuse myself of being lazy when I'd spend 2-3 days hanging out in a recliner, playing games. I've learned that I'm wired for spurts of intense activity, some of it emotionally draining, and my batteries need recharging through solitude. If I don't? I get sick, 100%.

My urban neighborhood right on Lake Erie usually doesn't get much snow, but an occasional storm will blast us. This one in March 2015 had a snowfall so heavy it twisted off part of our driveway gutter & downspout.

Unsuk Chin's virtuosic miniature "subita con forza", written in response to Beethoven's Conversation Books, would be a perfect score to a 5-minute magical realist animation of a deaf Beethoven being assailed & seduced by fragments of his music that swirl around him.

I was unprepared for the psychic voodoo Beatrice Rana would perform in her rendition of Rachmaninoff 2, where she seemed to be discovering passages. It was deeply tragic, a landscape of grief & loss, with the Orchestra a helping Spirit slowly coaxing you to live again. Wept, then sobbed through it.

I don't know when I switched to eating salad after my main course - probably after a trip to Europe - but I prefer it as a palate cleanser that often substitutes for dessert. In this case, it is between my catfish, shrimp, & pierogi extravaganza & cornbread dessert on my free pre-concert buffet.

Different Mediterranean cultures used this symbol. Here, 2 mosaics of palms flanked the Gates of Paradise. In Jewish iconography palms also symbolized the Tree of Life from Genesis.

Mom put her old Xmas letters in her address book, giving a snapshot of when things occurred. This came just before she was diagnosed with polymyositis, a rare immune disorder that attacks core muscles. She fought it for 14 years, doing 100's of crunches & butt lifts daily - starting at 82.

I cringe when I see myself in photos from my teen years. I hated so many things about my body then. One pic shows me stooping in a weird way. One day a lightbulb went off: "You were trying to fit a 5'8" 150 lb. young woman into the space of a 5'2" 100 lb. cheerleader." OMG.

First time in a while that I chopped a poker tournament heads-up after being the chip leader for a time. It was a hard-fought 8-hour battle & we decided to split the prize pool evenly as we were near even in chips.
~$4000 profit isn't bad for a day's work, and it gives me more leaderboard points.
