Yes. Regular pasteurization isn't hot enough to kill the strain. Thorough cooking of anything cow-adjacent. Slow cooked pot roast, not rare steak.

He also said don't eat undercooked beef right now, either. There's too much of it in the US.

My friend Nina's brither-in-law, who has studied bird flu for over a decade, says:
- only drink ultrapasteurized milk or milk substitutes
- no runny egg dishes
This shit is serious.

This place is so cool. You can curate it 100 different ways as you see fit. I just love it here.

I used to be on the "summer sprinkling plan" because of how much Bob watered the roses. Now I neglect everything & let nature take its course. It's amazing that I don't preside over a patch of dirt at this point.

The corruption was unbelievable. A male friend knew FBI guys who told him in 2016 the FBI was doing everything possible to keep HRC out of the WH. I believed him then & sure do now.

I love paperbacks. That said, my brother convinced me to get a large screen Samsung phone and shared Moon Reader Pro with me and I now read 95% of books on my phone at exactly the right font size. No need to bring a bigger device. Perfect with Libby app.

Keeping a good attitude is part of the battle! Whatever keeps you in serenity - whether it is games, TV, jokes - it is a good.

I am friends with Joyce Brabner who with her husband Harvey Pekar has written real-life urban working class comics, American Splendor. I love Our Cancer Year by them & her recent book The Courage Party.

I will reread favorite authors. I own almost everything by Philip K. Dick and to pull Ubik or Radio Free Albemuth off the shelf is a great pleasure.

I think some really great "book rewrites" have come out. E.g., I think everyone who ever read or saw Gone with the Wind owes it to themselves to read The Wind Done Gone, which recontextualizes it brilliantly from the POV of the enslaved characters. Its copyright case changed parody/fair use laws.

I've been grinding my teeth through plays that need work for decades but I'm more forgiving with fiction. These days, if something doesn't hold me, I drop it and read something else.
