I don't want anyone to misunderstand. I will absolutely keep getting mammograms as directed. I will, however, be adamant that they're booked via the Practice Manager, who has promised to ensure the tech is gentle, unlike the aforementioned sadist.

A lot depends on the mammogram tech. For ages mine were fine...until February, when the woman was a sadist -- including ignoring specific injuries I alerted her to that affect how I can move.

Okay, people, let's talk about mammograms. I was terrified to get my first because I'd read numerous accounts of how horrifying they are. I was in and out in five minutes. They took extra images of my breasts and it was still only ~30 seconds of mild discomfort. Don't put mammograms off!

When I was 18 I worked full time for minimum wage. My college fees for a semester cost me one week’s take-home pay and basic healthcare was provided on-campus. My books were another week’s. My rent and gas for my car were a week’s pay each month & I made a car payment and bought food. It’s time.
