Thank you for this. I tried to ask Google about it and got nowhere. I knew there was a lag but 2 years is extreme.

You know L.A. has looked like this a couple of times in the last 30 years. There was a rain of ash fall for days, too-I had to wash off all the plants in my parent's yard where Dad had been a Master Gardener. The driveway was covered 1" deep. And there have been orange skies. Not saying it's not ba

So sorry, thought we were talking about the flowers I've been posting. With Kaiser, I have blood work done and meds checked 1x/year. But if something is wrong, like my BP right now, it's like a herd of horses trying to correct it.

Yes, but if you feed them you can get multiple blooms. The newer hybrid flowers can last 2-3 days. Some of the older varieties on last 1 day or bloom at night and gone before 9 am.
So, it's a real joy to have the flowers.

This is an Epidendrum, an epiphyte like most Bromeliads and Orchids and comes from the same area of the world-Central and South America jungles. The common name is "Orchid Cactus" though not a cactus or an orchid. The blooms last only 2-3 days.
