It isn’t funny, not even close, but I can’t help but laugh as I imagine he spent days perfecting the look in a mirror, followed by days more with some poor soul behind a camera. #digital or #SwimmingInPolaroids

Monthly Library Trustee meeting this morning. Spent both way too much and way too little time worrying about 1st Amendment auditors and, in the library jargon, policies relating to reconsideration requests, aka challenges to books in the collection. Depressing, maddening and motivating.

Trump could have 1000 indictments. He's still the planned Republican nominee.

Meaning do not depend on or trust the legal system to take him out of play. We still have an assignment- show up and vote. Control of Congress is on the line and your local races are critically important.

This might not go anywhere but it’s worth a try. I’d like to propose #FiveDollarFriday as a push to donate to Spoutible’s ability to get us a mobile app. If you can’t donate, please consider Echoing this spout 🐳

In 2024, Democrats will need a platform to organize. Democrats can't organize on Mastodon, Post News, Bluesky, or Threads. So that leaves Twitter, Facebook, and Spoutible. Where do you think most Democrats will end up? This is just the start of a very long race.

I lived in South Carolina for 5 yrs. During that time, I befriended a white woman...I point out her race for a reason...who hosted an annual party called the, "Anita Hill Party". The party was held on the anniversary date of Anita's 1st day testifying to Congress about Clarence Thomas.

“Turning libraries in low-income communities of color into ‘discipline centers’ is as racist as it sounds. Libraries are the ultimate sign of freedom and possibility, because they give kids and adults the opportunity to learn for free.”

My summer STEM outreach is winding down. 7 beaches/dunes programs for libraries. A week of SeaPerch build (AM) with climate change (PM). And chaotic adult ed around E. coli levels at our local river park (>450). The kids were fun, park managers wise and local elected officials neither of those.

Can’t resist. It has been hot and wet in NH this summer. The rural version common name is just too good.

Climate change is driving sea level rise -- a huge challenge for everyone who lives on the coast. Fortunately, California has made it a priority to plan for the inevitable: https://www.kqed.org/scien...

If you get a chance take in a show by Scott Bradlee’s Post Modern Jukebox. And it is a show, not a concert. #PMJTour could be headed your way.

About a foot of cement overnight, another foot or more predicted. Power is out now after many off/on cycles. Can’t imagine how the people in the Sierras have been feeling. Our solar array does no good today so feeling very lucky to have a 2/3 house generator.

A whole group of Americans are turning against public education and teachers. Shout it from the rooftops: the teachers are not ok. We are tired and scared.
