I drove my son back to school last weekend, during the arctic fury. The sunrise was spectacular and I suspect that was partly due to the sub-0 temperature. It was -15°F when I took these photos in the middle of Iowa. The ghostly suns on either side make this look other-worldly.

Today would have been my MIL’s 91st birthday. She passed in April this year and I really miss her. 10+ years ago, we had a very long talk when her son and I divorced and before I left that day, she said “I’ll always be your MIL.” I think about her almost every day.
