Canada is definitely seeing far right groups trying to infiltrate politics and school boards. Glad to see these books are still available in the libraries even if the curriculum changes.

Louise Penny's Inspector Gamache series #17 'The Madness of Crowds', written during the Covid pandemic, she imagines us coming out of the pandemic. It was interesting to read after knowing how we actually managed to emerge - for example who knew then that vaccines would not be fully embraced?

Thanks. As I said, I had followed all instructions correctly without success.
The good news is the re-installation of the app this morning is now working.

Over the last day I have followed all instructions on my Android phone, now adding the deleting of Chrome data and cookies. Re installing the spoutible app still does not work for me. I continually get the message pop up: An error occurred while processing your request. Please try again later.

Thanks! I started Bookstagram and going to a book club a few years ago to deal with that need to talk about books, but I'm trying to post more of what I am reading here, as well.

The safest and most fun for me is usually to talk about books. If it is about books I'm particularly interested in it can be hard to get me to be quiet.😅 Certain current events and politics can be interesting but also divisive if not approached carefully.

No, it's not good. Alberta certainly isn't the only province having health care issues but I have little hope in the current government here.

The story on Alice's computer screen had been finding its way into words for more than five years, or maybe forever. And then the librarians arrived.

I use Goodreads and Storygraph to keep track but the goal number is just an aid to that and not something I necessarily work towards. I aim for 50 but usually go a bit over. It is fun for me to look back at the stats and reminisce about what I read.

This was a follow-up to 'Talking To Canadians', which I also highly recommend. He had too many stories to tell so he wrote this one.
Happy New Year and happy reading to you, as well!

Sadly it is even expensive for Canadians to visit Canada. I hope you are able to work out a doable vacation and enjoy it.

There is certainly grieving of the changed relationships. People I no longer keep track of because it was too stressful to see what they said or did and grieving the people who have changed so much because of the damaging echo chamber they ended up in. It continues and is sad.

I've definitely added it to my non-fiction TBR list. Appreciate seeing the focus on it that put it back on my radar.

I don't usually read thrillers but I am certainly curious. Put a hold on it at my local library for when it comes out in October.

I'm a Canadian and an avid library user but if I want to buy physical books I often find excellent deals at thrift stores. Highly recommend trying thrift store shopping though you have to have patience and enjoy the hunt.
