I have a prep room in my basement and take my kids fossil hunting with me a few times each year. I love it.

It would have been a double if I found it a season earlier.

I still have my original from 40 years ago. Box is gone and I'm not sure if I have all of the small parts still.

I've collected there a few times and had really great luck. I have quite a few pieces I'm still working to prepare. Crinoids are my favorite.

This location had very active volcanoes that dropped fine ash so these type of details are preserved. It was quick burial before anything could decompose.

Which printing is this? I just completed the whole run but the first 10 issues are not first printing.

This is my painting of the same Onychaster flexilis brittlestar climbing a crinoid stem. They are often found tangled in the calyx of crinoids stealing food.

The antenna are just amazing on this specimen. You can see the individual segments. The eggs are located in the cheeks, just like horseshoe crabs. I helped with SEM pics in the scientific paper describing the eggs a few years ago.

Trilobites from this location are special because they show soft tissue preservation. The legs and antenna are replaced with pyrite or Fool's gold. They are some of the most stunning trilobites in the world.

I would love to see pictures of you have any. I've collected fossils all over the world. I've donated quite a few specimens to museums. I even found a brand new species and it's named for me now.
