The main things I miss about old Pittsburgh is Kaufmann’s & big cunema screens in downtown. Otherwise, I’m a fan of new Pittsburgh. The museums & Mt. Washington haven’t gone anywhere.

Local & statewide judicial eaces in Pennsylvania today. I’m hoping to help flip the school board to more Democrats & keep a #MAGAt off the State Supreme Court.

Classic Republican lies. Every Republican political commercial makes crime sound MUCH worse than it really is (in most places). #NeverVoteRepublican

Most mainstream media outlets were asleep at the switch over Trump, after being even more hopelessly asleep during W's presidency. NPR was a bit better, especially after his election, but had also been lapdoggish to W after 9/11.

There was a time about 160 years ago when the Republican party was rational & the Democratic party was the looney fringe (see Civil War if you need that reminder). But, for decades, it's been the opposite and the Republican party (my former party) is a hopeless mess. #NeverVoteRepublican

It’s nice to live in an area with boring weather. Pittsburgh, as usual, is having moderate, boring weather this summer. Haven’t had to turn on AC since Sunday.

Until the early '90s, I'd never smelled smoke from a fire hundreds of miles away. Since 2015, I've experienced bad air from 3 different fires that were far away - Spokane August 2015 (the day Spokane had the worst air in the world), San Jose August 2018 & now Massachusetts 2023.

Depression is frequently "situational" - bad things in your life can make you feel bad for a while. That's normal. But when you feel like crap or have trouble functioning when things are going well, that's not good. Trying something like B12 is cheap & safe - it might not work but it might!

I had depression most of my life; erratically from about the age of 5 until I was about 47. Therapy & Prozac helped some. When I developed severe insomnia, I started taking a Vitamin B supplement with B12 which was supposed to make me feel more energized. It did - AND no more depression.

I have notifications turned off. I use social media a lot but it isn't my life & I don't want it to interrupt me over my phone when I'm not actively online. Every few days I review the list of followers and follow back the people who are actively participating on Spoutible.

This is true in the US as well - the constant fighting over the Colorado River water rights in the west. While multiple days of rain can be annoying, most of the east is a whole lot greener than much of the west, especially the southwest.

Typical #QNUT behavior - kill/damage programs/laws the people want and the Democrats pass. And then make it very hard for people to vote Republicans out in the next election.
