Unfortunately, creating a fair and balanced represenation map might require a little more effort than blindly drawing lines...but not as much effort that Republicans use to completely erase all minority representation.

Yes I think it's impossible to avoid some strategic redistricting based on population.

In other words, it 40% of the voters in a state are Democrats, they should have 40% of the representation.

And by race/ethnicity. I think it's important that minority groups are proportionally represented.

Because minority groups will have absolutely no representation. Republicans are not content with allowing majority minority areas to have representation. They gerrymander and divide up those majority minority areas.

It would certainly open the door, but Biden is an old-school guy who in many ways, is going with an old politics playbook that seems to give too much credit where it's no longer deserved.

I agree. Trump is already the presumptive nominee.
I have no doubt they will run him from prison.

It will be interesting to watch the GOP convention though.

Totally agree with former convicts getting to vote once released. The point of being out on parole is supervision as they are reintroduced into their community….to become fully functioning citizens again. Voting is part of that like getting a job and paying bills.

It’s time to stop revoking people’s right to vote because of arbitrary and meaningless rules only there to trip people up.

It will get worse before it gets better. MAGA is desperate to cling to power.

We need to re-elect Biden and give him majorities in the House & Senate in order to turn it around.

It's wonderful to see people at the state & local levels really working on cleaning up their governments too.

Less actually:
"states have been signing up for several decades. With Maine, they’re at 209 Electoral College votes, and Michigan (with 16 Electoral College votes) will be the next state to join, as the National Popular Vote legislation is working its way through their legislature now." That's 225!

Cool. I had to start over on the back because I had read the chart the wrong way and did all the cables the wrong way in the first pass.

Yes. Tension is the hardest part of cables...especially ones that are this wide!...plus adding stitches in the middle of it.

Hey, are you familiar with reading charts?

It only shows the right side of the fabric, so you read it right to left for the right side and left to right for the wrong side.

Otherwise your cables will be backwards.

Never had that happen but I do have trouble with hashtags.

You know when you start to type one and it gives you suggestions? When I click on that suggestion it goes haywire and duplicates a bunch of text.

New app growing pains, I think.

I'm so sorry. You did a great job on the yoke.
If you'd like to keep trying, I'm happy to help in any way I can.

It's definitely an ambitious project for your 1st sweater.

Here's a good starter pattern you can make with or without stripes.

Someone came up with a solution?
I've never heard of BeeCount...is that an app or website?
It's tedious putting each step in a spreadsheet. Would be nice to come up with something more automated.

Recently worked on a project that told me at the end to add buttonholes every x number of rows.🥴

Hey, Melissa! how is the sweater coat project going?
I finally finished the body again & figured out the live stitch instructions under the arms. (YouTube) Persistence.
It's drying now and I'll start the front bands this evening. #knitting

So sorry.

I make that mistake all the time...even in obvious situations like the ribbing. I even highlight it on instructions, but somehow miss it. So frustrating!

It always takes a little more time up front, but saves time in the long run, if I create a spreadsheet for the size I need.

I don't do well with instructions in paragraph form, and a checklist makes it super easy to stop anywhere & come back to my work without taking time to reorient myself.

That's beautiful. Love the colors. Still working on the cabled sweater coat. I started over with a new yarn. Didn't like the first yarn I started with. Felt like twine. Just finished the body this morning. While that's blocking, I'll start the front bands. #knitting
