I've been on here since February and I'm still only at 130 Spouters. Is it me? Does my Spouts suck that badly?
I'm not exactly motivated to be on here, TBH. There's hardly any interaction around here too. It's why I don't hop on that much anymore.

Every time I come here, I follow at least a few more people. I react to things with comments and Quote Spouts. Things really started picking up on my timeline when I followed enough ACTIVE Spouters. Following people who don't post often doesn't help much. Our timelines really are what we curate.

There are numerous good reasons to be on Spoutible. People get along nicely without attacking others is a huge plus.
One thing I see that hasn’t changed however is the cliquishness so prevalent on the bird app.

Here are a couple things you have 165 followers so 165 people see your spout plus Explore. Your Reach goes farther if people echo or quote your spouts.
You Have 55 Spouts since you joined so not much exposer. Spout More, Quote Spout more, follow more so you see more to quote.

I would spout more if I got the engagement. Otherwise, I get bored and leave for a while that's why I don't have a lot of spouts yet.

You need to follow waaay more people. 100-some isn't nearly enough. Your experience here is mostly about whom you follow. Your timeline won't get lively til you have at least 400-500.

Welcome, and sorry your experience has been not so great. My experience is that there's more engagement, but it has indeed, like in all new social media situations (e.g., Post, Mastodon, even Twitter back in the days I was there), required time and cultivation of relationships. It's worth it imo

Hello there! I haven't perused your profile yet, but I doubt it's the quality of your spouts. As others have pointed out, it mostly comes down to how much you interact. Reply and quite spout others to put yourself out there. Don't be afraid to follow first. You can always block later.

There is no algorithm here feeding your spouts to others. Only those who follow you will see your thoughts.
Notice how the number you follow is close to the number of those who follow you?
Follow more people and a lot of them will follow you.
That is how you create engagement here IMO
