I want a hybrid or ev, but will probably have to drive my ancient Honda for the foreseeable future.

I've got an EV. I bought a Tesla before Elon went completely off his rocker.

Plug in hybrid. I mostly drive locally so a charge lasts for a couple of days, and a tank of gas lasts a couple of months. I get “stale gas” notices!! I had a dryer outlet installed in the garage next to my car, so charging is easy.

Option 4: too poor to have any choice.

EVs and even older hybrids are beyond my financial ability, and will remain so for probably another decade, and I live in BFE, so not having a vehicle isn't an option.

Next car likely full EV. Unless there is a hydrogen hybrid coming

I want to go hybrid, but I have an engineer friend who owns a Tesla 🤮 and he made a pretty good point. Two engines means twice as much maintenance and twice as many things to break. So I’m holding off until the tech on EVs gets a little better.

Your engineer friend may have a theoretical point but it doesn't work that way in practice.

I've been driving Toyota hybrids exclusively since 2008. Totally reliable and way cheaper to run than IC. Do yourself a favor and switch.

I had an electrician upgrade the panel in my garage and install at "dryer outlet" near the garage door. I'm planning/expecting my next car to be full EV. Disinclined to get a Tesla, but there are several nice looking alternatives.

I'm on my 3rd hybrid. Started in 2005 w hybrid Honda Civic, then 2014 w hybrid Ford CMAX and current 2020 hybrid Ford Escape. Currently get 47.5 mpg on it, seats 5 and great cargo room!

How about two more options.
1. Getting a battery electric vehicle
2. Don't have a car and no plans to acquire one.

I couldn't find a hybrid/EV that would do what I wanted that I could afford. (Decent clearance, not too high, good cargo space.)

My ideal would be to co-op with my sister and her partner, and have an EV for errands and such, and a truck / van / station wagon for hauling.

(I generally have less

I have 2 vehicles that are within 15-20% of the best mileage when compared to a Hybrid.

Until Hybrids and EV’s become more affordable… it becomes just as easy to get electric charge as gas vehicles and reliable performance at -40° Celsius, we will be waiting.

Sticking with my Civic till it dies. Even if I could buy a car, I live in an apartment, got nowhere here to charge. I'd always be in search of a place to plug in.

We have two ICE cars right now, both 4-door hatchbacks that get 25-30 mpg. Since spring of 2020, we've probably logged 5,000 miles combined. Mr. N works from home, and most of our shopping is close. Next one will definitely be a hybrid, if the full electrics aren't adequate by the time we need one.

None of the above. I have a car now that gets well above 30 mpg. I'm hoping it will last until I retire at which point I plan to bike or take public transit as much as possible. Maybe buy an electric car.

More like *stuck* with fossil fuels. I can't afford a hybrid much less an EV. (But I *do* have a 4K PV system on my roof I installed right after I paid off my mortgage back before I retired.)
