This is not about Palestinian liberation.

Protesting at the funeral of a beloved former First Lady is purely activist narcissism, a pathetic attempt to be edgy.

Jimmy & Rosalynn Carter were both longtime supporters of a two-state solution that would mean the creation of a stable & peaceful Palestine.

In case you needed ANOTHER reminder of how fucking stupid and disingenuous the ghouls who did this truly are...

Some things should never be politicized. A funeral is one of them!

I don’t care what your issue or what side you’re on!

Since I just saw a Pro-Israel ad on MSNBC last night, quoting a debunked article from The Gaurdian, I would say Pro-Palestine statements need to get eyes on them as much as possible. Also, Jimmy Carter wrote a great book on the apartheid against Palestinians. I hope Rosalynn would approve, too.

I wouldn't have participated, but I understand the feeling of desperation in a time of ongoing slaughter. But it is sad, since the Carters did try to speak out about Israel's human rights abuses.

I am all for protest, but the power in the protest is the strategy - when, where and why - you can dilute your message by carelessness…

It is sad, particularly since President Carter himself is such an huge supporter of Palestinians. He is one of the few Democratic leaders to call out Israel's occupation of Gaza and the West Bank as apartheid.

These are probably part of the Putinist faux-Left, who take it as an article of faith that all Western politicians are equally evil (except those who are friendly with non-Western dictators). Attacking someone like Jimmy Carter, who proves the lie in that, would if anything be a priority for them.

Some people's business is causing chaos, and business is good when there's a Democratic administration's efforts to stop fascism must be thwarted.

They probably felt protesting here would give their cause the most national exposure. It is a disgrace. To protest outside any funeral or memorial service will not win you any new supporters. The Carter's are two of the most beloved people in America. They have given so much of themselves for others

How might that be the case?

I agree. I think it’s similarly ridiculous to splatter red paint on the public library. Made me want to hit a mfka over the head with a can of paint.

I’ll just have to donate whatever I would have considered donating to that organization to the library now.

All publicity is NOT good publicity

do you wonder if these are even actually pro Palestinian activists?
I don’t mean to be conspiracy theorist, but I can’t imagine what the logic was behind protesting at Mrs. Carter‘s funeral. Wondering if these are just chaos agents🤷‍♀️

Wouldn't surprise me by a long shot tbh. I still remember planted ops trying to make the BLM demonstrators look bad back in '20

IMO, protests like this or stopping all traffic on a street/bridge hurt a cause, not help it.

Protesting at Rosalynn Carter's funeral, a much beloved public figure who has done so much for people everywhere, is particularly egregious. I doubt it will win them many, if any, supporters. #NoShame

Yup.

It's not just tasteless, it's incompetent. This exact sort of shit made the Westerborough Baptist Church utterly (and deservedly) loathed.
