Sorry, no. People should be able to delete unwanted replies. If someone abuses the delete functionality, others will see a large number of deleted spouts. No one should be forced to endure someone else's abuse.

The trashcan button has to go, or the people serially abusing it have to go. Otherwise this will become a troll playground.

Thank you for keeping it. Negative trolls will learn Spoutible isn't for them.

A big part of a positive social media experience lies with the consumers of it. If we allow abuse in our spouts, then we duplicate the experience in the apps we left. Abuse will never be permitted within mine. You are safe with me. My promise. Thanks for the feature to delete abuse.

This is a good thing. Everyone should feel some agency of their own accounts.

I just love how some on here think they've got all the answers on how to run a social platform. Wonder exactly why none of them are actually running one?

That's what active moderation is for.

Just piling up deletions won't refute their lies.

This feature will be exploited by organized trolls. It will become your biggest security issue.

Rather than replying to the person who is deleting, have you considered quote-spouting instead? Then you control the visibility.

And I know who you’re speaking about, they have caused problems before but have managed to stay on the right side of the TOS.

You realize why that doesn't work right? The Spoutible team is relatively small and even Mr. B needs to sleep occasionally. Active moderation takes time and people shouldn't have to suffer abuse while they're waiting. That's a FAR more impotence consideration than any other.
