There's been a pattern the last several days.

Person spouts hurtful "joke."
People hurt by hurtful joke explain why.
"Joker" says it's ok because it REALLY hurts target who will never see it.
People say, no, it hurts me.
"Joker" digs in.

Feels kind of trolly to me.

Oh, it’s trolly

Testing the water to see what’s going to fly or just wanting to screw with the ‘libs’

I honestly have a hard time believing that some of those fucks are that obtuse about the harm they’re causing

Definitely troll-y. Sure, people make mistakes but when someone refuses to acknowledge the hurt, doubles down on it, refuses to own it? Trolling for sure.

Definitely. Especially when they've been told repeatedly but then feel they need explain other people's reactions to them.

It is trolly. But: I have too many years' experience with cishet white men fauxgressives. Some of them don't think they're trolling.

Honestly, many don't think: they wear WM privilege like an impenetrable helmet & can't see around its eyeslits. Lost cause. Blockety block.

They're losing their place at the dead bird and looking for a new neighborhood. It's really gross.

It really is. And they're trying to change the atmosphere around here.
