Why can't I see a human being, and not giving a damn about your sexual preference?

Merlene, why did you ask a question you didn't want the answer to? And why did you ask it in a way that was surely intended to provoke? You say you're smart, a critical thinker. So you must have chosen your words intentionally.
..."not give a damn"..."preference".
Oh, Merlene.
C'mon now, sweetie.

Because that's not how the world or our society works - and you know this.

Why is your response to someone asking to be seen as a whole person an angry refusal?

I’ve seen you spouting “I don’t see _” for days now.

Many, many people have told you why being unseen is hurtful, yet you angrily respond with your refusal to see.

Frankly, it’s abusive at this point.

Well, saying so and not caring tells us that you don't care about someone's lived experiences, the discrimination and abuse they endure, that their pain does not matter to you. 'All lives matter' is your stance. You see everyone as being on equal footing, where clearly that is completely untrue.

I choose to give a damn because many human beings are not yet legal adults but are tossed out of the homes they grew up in , and have become homeless victims of people who 'don't give a damn'

Because that stance, by definition, is not seeing a human being.

Here's an idea: Model the respect you expect from others.

Yet you (rightly) *require* people to see your color.

It's exactly the same thing.

Nope. My skin is my skin. Born with it. How can you not see it? I hope when I meet people they will see how I treat them with common decency and respect, like I want to be treated. It's not rocket science.

So one's orientation is separate from being a human being?

Trans & cis are references to gender, not sexuality. Those two concepts are not the same. There are some helpful guides that might give you a better understanding of these concepts. And there are MANY studies and personal testimonies explaining why self-acknowledgment matters for well-being.

Respecting the conversations and concepts, I will NOT be labeled as a "cis" woman. That is disrespectful to me as a woman.

Because you refusing to see folks as they are means you refuse to see diversity in the human race & when you refuse to *see* diversity in the human race, you're refusing to see that you're not capable of empathy. If you don't *see* them, you can't advocate for the challenges they face.

Keyward- "preference", it's neither a preference or choice. It's a fact queer people are born as they are, otherwise homophobic
societies would have been able to"convert" them.

Queer persons are murdered for who they are, this is why we support who they are openly.

I do think critically, but I do not let other people tell me what I should think or how I should feel about any issue.

Gender and sexuality are part of who we are as people. All of us. I am a cis het woman and it shaped me. It matters the same way a trans het woman would have it matter

I am a WOMAN. Born with ovaries, fallopian tubes, uterus, developed breast, etc. Most important is I try to be a decent human being treating others w/ common decency & respect like I want to be treated. Has zero to do with my sexuality.
